作为中华文化核心经典，《论语》长期以来都是汉学研究的焦点。白牧之、白妙子夫妇合著的《论语辨》是20世纪颇具影响力的《论语》英译本之一。他俩的研究虽具创新性，但受西方解构主义以及历史诠释方法的影响，其对《论语》的文体编排、人物形象与思想源流等内容展开了解构式解读与颠覆性阐释，其研究结果中则存在主观臆断、文本曲解和牵强比附等诸多问题。本文系统批判《论语辨》中存在的问题，揭示其方法论存在的偏颇与结论的失真，以期为当下的汉学研究提供借鉴。

As a core classic of Chinese culture, The Analects has long been an important object in Sinology studies. The English translation The Original Analects: Sayings of Confucius and His Successors(1998), co-authored by E. Bruce Brooks and A. Taeko Brooks, stands as one of the most influential 20th-century interpretations of The Analects. While their research demonstrates innovation, it is heavily shaped by Western deconstructionism and historical hermeneutic methods. In their work, the authors analyze, criticize and reinterpret the stylistic arrangement, character portrayals, and intellectual lineage of The Analects. However,some problems exist in their conclusions such as subjective assumptions, textual distortions, forced analogies and so on. This paper systematically criticizes the problems in The Original Analects, revealing the bias of its methodology and the distortion of its conclusions, with a view to providing lessons for contemporary Sinology studies.
